Government Throws 29 to Forceful Quarantine

The government has ordered a forced 14 days quarantine for 19 people found contravening the public health act put in place to curb the spread of Covid-19 disease.

Confirming the incident the Kwale county commissioner Karuku Ngumo  said that the 19 people who were among 25  were arrested on saturday in Ukunda. 6 others managed to escape.

“These people who were found selling while others were taking liquor at Buruburu Sports Club bar and resaurant will be confined at Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) at their own cost.”

“After the 14 days they will be tested and later on arraigned before a court if law.” Said Ngumo.

Else where in kinango subcounty 11 women of Dhawabu Mbandi women group are being detained  at Kinango police station for violeting the public health.

The county boss observed that Police officers acting on top off from members of public proceeded to mbandi village and found 11 members in the house of one member mwanasiti mshihiri Hassan.

“These women were found doing table banking  despite government’s directive restricting movement and and also gathering if persons who are more than 15. ” Lamented the county boss.

Meanwhile a middle aged women is also in a forced confinement in Lunga Lunga sub county hospital afer returning from  Tanzania.”The woman was quarantined on Thursday after returning home from the neighbouring country where she was serving in one of the Tanzania prisons.” Said Ngumo.

According to police report the lady has been ill for a period of time whereby the Tanzania government decided to take her back to her country.

Due to the breakout of covid_19 in Kenya and the world at large, president Uhuru Kenyatta ordered a cessation  of movement in coastal counties  of Kilifi, Mombasa and Kwale   which saw the sick lady being put into a 14 day quarantine.

Kwale county commissioner now urges residents of Kwale to report such cases of reckless people who are endangering the lives of other residents of Kwale county.
