DJ Dave crowned Battle of Beats Season II Winner Mombasa

The Smirnoff Battle of the Beats season II Mombasa Edition crowned DJ Dave the third winner of the hotly contested deejaying competition. All winning DJ acts will walk away with a MacBook pro laptop, a flight case and a 2TB hard-discs.

In a pulsating final event at Club Mio’s in Mombasa, DJ’s battled it out on the decks with each act with DJ Dave impressing the crowd and Judges with his expert command of the decks, detailed set, song choices and mixing technique that gave him the ultimate edge in the tightly contested finals.

DJ Dave becomes the third overall winner of the Smirnoff Battle of the Beats season II deejaying competition that will see other aspiring deejays battle it out in the remaining two editions in Kisumu and Nairobi.

The new regional format of the competition has already seen hundreds of participants audition for the competition boding well the remaining regional competitions.

Speaking at Club Mios, the competition’s principal Judge, Dj Stylez, expressed his elation at the overall talent seen through the different regional editions highlighting the superior levels of competition seen at the Mombasa auditions.

 “We are excited to be here in Mombasa to crown Smirnoff Battle of the Beats Season II Mombasa Edition. I must admit the level of competition here is some of the best we’ve seen since the inaugural leg in Thika. The Coast region from Season 1 has continually produced talented DJ’s like Zack the Maestro, Dj Most wanted, DJ Kev to the winner today. We’re always pumped to visit Mombasa as were assured the deejaying community is adequately represented here. We are urging even more Dj hopefuls to audition and get the opportunity to participate in this new entertainment wave that is Smirnoff battle of the Beats.,” said DJ Stylez

Speaking also at the event, KBL Smirnoff Brand Manager, Christine Kariuki expressed her excitement for the upcoming editions as it will provide opportunities for them to interact with their millennial target consumer through their passion points.

 “As KBL were excited by yet another successful regional competition in Mombasa. Deejaying is a unique musical craft that more and more millennials are using to express their passion for music and entertainment. Smirnoff Battle of the Beats will continue to provide Dj hopefuls in Mombasa, Nairobi, Kisumu and across the country the opportunity to engage with what they love and were extremely proud to be to be part of this journey” said Ms. Kariuki.

The Smirnoff Battle of the Beats bandwagon heads next to Kisumu in April to unearth other Dj gems and see your favorite entertainers DJ’s like Mellow, Stylez and Hypnotiq and some of the best Kenyan deejaying talents delivering electric and engaging performances on this unique stage.

The competition is part of the larger Smirnoff Mix Experience, an ongoing cross-country sensitization campaign to educate consumers on their perfect cocktail options including the Smirnoff cocktail serve.
