National Land Commission promises to deal with historical land injustices in Taita Taveta County

The National Land Commission NLC has promised to deal with historical land injustices in Taita Taveta County once and for all.

Speaking in Governor Granton Samboja’s office on Thursday, Kazungu Kambi who is one of the commissioners stressed that NLC was keen in dealing with the nagging problem for good so that county locals enjoy their God given rights.

Kazungu who had paid a courtesy call on Samboja in his newly commissioned offices in Mwatate noted that first on the list would to fast track all pending issues raised by the county in the administration of community land and forests too.

“NLC will ensure that displaced persons as is the current case at Voi primary school are settled as quickly as possible.” Noted the commissioner who had been accompanied by the Taita Taveta county NLC coordinator Denis Mutungi and Ms Damaris Kimondo who is Mwatate Deputy County Commissioner.

On his part, Samboja assured that his government would lend all the necessary support in the quest of enhancing proper land use and administration in accordance with law.

Also present during the meeting were the executive committee member in charge of land Mr. Mwandawiro Mghanga, the lands county chief officer  Reuben Ngeti,  the Interim County Secretary Mr. Liverson Mghendi,  and Director Legal Mr. Edwin Chahilu.
