Over Six million Worth of Property goes up into smoke in Majengo, Mombasa county

Property worth million of shillings went up in smoke in a mid morning incident along Kenyatta Avenue in Mombasa county.
The Tuesday mid morning incident which attracted a big crowd of onlookers started in one of the shops in Majengo area before quickly spreading to the next shop.
However, quick action by the county’s fire brigade put to a stop the flames but not before gobbling up property worth more than six million shillings.
Speaking to the media one of the traders who spoke on condition of anonymity claimed that the fire started in a neighboring shop and then spread to his premise.
“We deal with household items including mattresses, carpets nd other items but sadly we never salvaged anything ” said the trader.
The shopkeeper lamented that all his goods estimated to cost shillings 4 million not to mention the shop which costed shillings 2 million went up into flames.
Meanwhile, Hussein Swaleh a tenant and trader next door denied claims that the fire started within his premise.
Although the cause of inferno has is yet to be established, Swaleh claimed that power outage might have started the fire.
Nobody was injured in the 10 am fire incident.
